Sky has introduced a new feature for its Sky+HD subscribers; the “undelete button”. If like me you have ever accidentally deleted a show you will appreciate this new addition to the Sky EPG.
“We’re adding a new feature to Sky+ called Undelete, so you’ll never miss a TV show because you’ve accidentally deleted it from your Planner, all deleted shows will be added to the Deleted tab and you’ll be able to restore them to your Planner or delete them permanently from there. The Deleted tab will be found to the left of your Planner’s ‘All’ tab.”
In a way to avoid filling up your Sky+ storage space they have implemented a tool which will automatically delete the oldest content permanently. We all know that space is all too easy to fill in a short amount of time, and this is definitely a welcome addition – after all we wouldn’t want deleted content taking up our precious space.
Speaking to The Inquirer, BSkyB also shared details on upcoming additions to its On Demand and Catch Up services. Sky Anytime+ is to be renamed as ‘On Demand’, which isn’t all too surprising considering its been loaded with On Demand promotional programmes for quite some time now.
The Sky On Demand service features up to seven days worth of content from Sky themselves including TV Shows and Movies, as well as content from ITV, Channel 5 and the BBC.
Sky are also introducing a link in the EPG to the Sky Store which allows users to rent movies directly from their existing Sky setup. With rumoured next generation Freesat boxes with Netflix, it certainly looks like Sky ate upping their game. The On Demand TV arena is definitely one to watch!
