New Apple headphones spotted in Asia ahead of iPhone 5 release

Vietnamese site Tinhte has released pictures of what they claim to be the next generation in Apple earbuds which will allegedly come bundled with the iPhone 5.

The Apple standard headphones have been included with all iPods, and iPhones since their introduction. They had their first major revision in 2006 which brought a more streamlined design – the one we are accustomed to now. Other than the 2006 revision the earbuds have remained largely the same.

Apple also make the Apple in-ear headphones with remote which can be purchased for £66.

These new headphones seem to look like a mash-up of the current standard and in-ear headphones but feature a mostly closed grill. with the direction of sound aimed more towards the ear canal. The pictures below show the new design, along with a close up of the cable which states Designed in California, Made in Vietnam.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we know for sure, but the new design certainly looks interesting, and sound improvements would certainly be welcomed.
