Amazon Cloud Drive arrives in the UK

Amazon has unleashed its Cloud Drive service to us UK folk – albeit quite some time after the US got their hands on it. Similar to Dropbox, Amazon Cloud drive allows users to upload documents, photos, videos and other digital media files to the cloud from any computer with an internet connection. Amazon has also released alongside Cloud Drive, the Cloud Drive Desktop App for both Mac and Windows, which allows for easier drag and drop style uploading.

You get 5GB for free when registering for the service, and that 5GB should hold about 2000 photos according to Amazon. If 5GB isn’t quite enough you can upgrade from just £6 per year for 20GB, or go all out on 1000GB for just £320 per year.

So if you don’t back up to an external drive or want a cloud backup, solution Amazon Cloud Drive could be the answer. With a load of available storage options, you could upload your files knowing they are in the secure Amazon Cloud Drive environment.
