Mini iPhone dock connector cable surfaces

An image of a mini iPhone dock connector cable has surfaced online, the image has comes from iLounge.com who got the images from a public tweet. The leaked image shows the complete cable with both ends clearly shown. The cable comes in Apples standard grey and white colour combinations and looks very similar to the standard dock connector with the same recognisable build quality expected from Apple.

Does this leaked images of the mini iPhone dock connector cable show that the next iPhone and the rumours of it having a mini dock could possibly be true? We will only know what the next iPhone will look like and its specs at Apples next media event which is expected to be September 12th 2012.
