Google has announced that Google+ users will be able to customise their profile page with a vanity URL.

Google has only made this feature available to brands, organisations and verified celebrities so far, however it will soon be available to everyone. Vanity URLs are described as short, easy to remember web addresses that link directly to your profile or page on Google + by Saurabh Sharma in a blog post.

So, how will it work? Users will have a domain that resembles their profile name with a + sign before it, for example: if you registered the +JamesBond address, the new vanity URL would become google.com/+JamesBond.

Although there is no specific date these will become available to Google+ users, we look forward to seeing these come into action. It will be much easier to find other users on the social network. A long awaited addition by many users, this was something that Facebook introduced not all too long ago.

If you currently use Google+ is this a welcome addition? Let us know in the comments below.
