Microsoft job ad indicates Xbox 720 for February 2014 release?

A job vacancy posted on Microsoft’s website accidentally revealed that we could be seeing the next generation Xbox console dubbed “Xbox 720″ within the next 18 months – of course, once the slip-up was noticed it was briskly removed from the site. Not before PCWorld however caught sight of it and managed to note what it said.

“Over the next 18 months, Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox.”

Details of the next generation Xbox are pretty much non-existant with many rumours circulating stating it will have everything from a Blu-ray drive to no disc drive at all. Either way, we could get the answer in the not all too distant future.

With the Wii U due later this year, and Sony rumoured to be working on the next generation of Playstation console (of course they are!) a  late 2013, early 2014 release date doesn’t seem too implausible.
