With Microsoft Windows 8 release just around the corner it was only a matter of time before some last minute news and rumours appeared, the news and rumours this time is not about the Operating System but the retail packaging it will be shipped in. Microsoft have gone down the Operating Systems user interface design route with their “Windows 8 style UI” previously known as Metro style in the development stage of Windows 8.
The Verge managed to get exclusive access to the retail packaging that will be used and this retail packaging can be seen in the image at the top of this article. The Operating System will come in two different colour boxes, white for the standard version and a dark grey/black for the pro version.
The release date for Windows 8 , Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT is October 26th with the tablet version of Windows 8 being released the same day.
