Sharp’s president Takashi Okuda has confirmed that they are the producers of the the display for Apples new iPhone; the iPhone 5. He has also confirmed that the displays will be shipped by the end of this month, Mr Okuda would not give more details of the dimensions or the technology used by the displays. Rumours have it that it could possible be based on Sharp’s IGZo technology, this technology allows an increase in pixel transparency as well as delivering a display with lower power consumption.
Apples new iPhone is expected to be announced on September 12 at their next media event, the device is then expected to be released 9 days after on September 21st.
